| Free Play for September 5, 2010 1 Unit on Texas Rangers -123 Bottom Line: After losing the first 2 games of this series, look for the Rangers to avoid the sweep this Sunday. I don't have much confidence in Black, who is carrying an ERA of 5.89 on the season, against a potent Texas lineup, especially when you consider that he has never defeated the Rangers (0-3 lifetime on the money line). The Twins are just 3-8 in Blackburn's last 11 starts, 5-16 in hos last 21 starts vs. the American League West and a big fat 0-6 in his last 6 starts as an underdog. Wilson just beat the Twins on 8/25 and he checks in with a brilliant 0.81 ERA over his last 3 starts. And, we can't overlook the fact that the Rangers have won his last 9 starts. Take Texas. Despite solid information, the cookie did not crumble in our favor Saturday, and the result was an 0-4 performance. This World Champion Handicapper is NOT happy, and he is CONFIDENT he will BOUNCE BACK STRONG today! Free Play for September 4, 2010 1 Unit on Oakland A's -130 Bottom Line: Cahill was rocked in his last start against the Yankees, but I expect that disappointing performance to leave him even hungrier Saturday. Cahill has been money in the bank all season, especially at home where he is 8-2 w/ a 1.84 ERA on the season. Plus, he has had a lot of success against the Angels, going 3-1 (5-1 on the money line) lifetime with an ERA of only 2.09. Weaver is one of the better pitchers in baseball, but he hasn't been on his game lately. He's 0-3 with an ERA of 5.21 over his last 3 starts. Plus, he has struggled on the road all season (4.60 ERA), and he is just 2-6 on the money line in his last 8 road starts against the A's. Take Oakland. Jeff finished the 2009-10 season on a Brilliant 22-10 Run (69%) w/ his Saturday NCAAF Picks, and he checks in w/ Dominant 6-2 & 44-26 NCAAF Runs in tact! 3* SUREFIRE on Northwestern -3.5 Bottom Line: System play - plays against any team (VANDERBILT) in the first week of the season, after closing out last season with 5 or more straight losses, with an experienced QB returning as starter, in the first two weeks of the season, are 36-10 ATS the last 10 seasons, including 11-1 ATS the last 3 seasons. We'll fade Vandy here. |

4* Major NCAAF Dog of the Week on Memphis +21 Bottom Line: The Bulldogs are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. Looking back, they are only 7-19 ATS in home non-conference games since 1992, winning by just 12.7 points on average in these contests. With Mississippi State already looking ahead to Auburn 5 days from now, and not wanting to show everything because of it, I expect the Tigers to keep this one within the number. |

4* Major on Northwestern/Vanderbilt UNDER 43 Bottom Line: Vandy was one of the worst offensive teams in the country last season, only scoring 16.3 points per game, and I don't expect much to change. Plus, Northwestern won't be as explosive in the opener as it breaks in a new starting QB. Northwestern is an impressive 8-1 UNDER in road games over the last 3 seasons, and Vandy is 9-1 UNDER as a home underdog of 7 points or less since 1992. Bet the Under. |

5* Wiseguy NCAAF Blowout Game of the Month on Texas -31 Bottom Line: The last 4 times the Longhorns have played Rice, they have won by 42,44,45 and 41 points. The Longhorns have the huge edge in the talent department on both sides of the football, and I'm expecting another win of 40+ points. Rice brings back a lot of players, but these same guys lost to Houston by 59 points in last season's finale. Gilbert has heard enough about Colt McCoy, and I fully expect him to show just how prolific of a passer he is today. Plus, I don't expect the Texas defense to give up much of anything. Lay the points. |
